My First Parade

We took Josie to her first parade this weekend.

I wasn't sure how much attention she would pay to the parade, but the sights and sounds quickly got her attention.

This is her excited face. Imagine hearing some "oohhs" and "ahhhs", as well as a few very lady-like grunts. :-) That's what we do when we're really excited.

I was probably the one who was the most excited when the clown stopped by us. Josie was probably just trying to figure out what in the world was going on.

After applying gobs (literally gobs) of sunscreen, walking 5 blocks from the car, distracting Josie with nearly 100 peach puffs, force feeding her before we left so that she wasn't too hungry during the event and timing her nap just perfectly in the morning so she was well rested, we had a fabulous time at the parade. Babies...take...a...lot...of...work. :-)

She's so cute! I hear you on the planning part. We went to the beach last Friday and did the same thing - I was exhausted by the time we finally got there. Apparently he was too because he slept the entire time.
