Guess What?

I'm 7 months old today. That's right, I'm kind of a big deal. Today, I'm going to celebrate my cousin, Luke's, very first birthday. And then tomorrow, I'm having my own 7-month celebration with mom, dad, Wrigs and a yummy cupcake. :-)

Dedication

Josie was dedicated during a service at our church this past Saturday. I can't think of a more touching and special way to start the weekend of my first Mother's Day.

Josie does not even have her head bowed during the prayer - how embarassing! :-) PS. I just now noticed that she's missing her left shoe. Hm...

All of Josie's cousins came to celebrate this special day. Cousin Luke (in the green!) was also dedicated that day. A two for one special!

The verse on the picture says, "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you his peace."

This picture was snapped a millisecond before Josie's little hand scooped up a heap of icing from that delicious lemon raspberry cake.

Josie and Luke opened a few little gifts to commemorate this special day. You haven't seen cute until you've read a children's Bible -- so adorable.

Josie was very thankful for her little treasures, but sometimes, she gets a little more excited about just having a present with a bright big bow in front of her. It's the little things.

Deep in the Heart of Texas

We went to Austin this weekend for the absolutely gorgeous wedding of one of my very favorite and best friends, Caroline. The wedding was outside at an art gallery, which was located right on the lake. Have you seen a more gorgeous bride?

Here are the young parents on their very first trip without their little girl. Todd and I left Josie with my parents in KC with a few tears (all from me, none from Josie). But Todd did a nice job of distracting me with an idea to get a latte from Starbucks, which immediately put a smile on my face. Apparently I'm as easy to distract as Josie is when I offer her a new toy in replace of my cell phone.

And of course, mom and dad couldn't come home without bringing Josie a little something from Texas. I mean, have you seen anything cuter than a denim purse with a little horsie inside? It's even more adorable when you squeeze the horse and hear him gallop and neigh, which is way better than my impression when we sing "Old McDonald Had a Farm". She's already holding her purse like a real shopper. Mama taught her well. :-)
